How Many MAh Should A Good Power Bank Have?

- May 24, 2016 -

Simply put, depends on your needs. Most probably, you're looking to store power for your phone. The average phone battery is nowadays around 2200mAh, which means that a 5000mAh power bank could roughly charge it twice (accounting for energy losses, see:Power Banks: How many times can a 5000mAh rated power bank charge an iPhone 6?).

But, if you're the kind of person that travels a lot or perhaps does not have a wall-plug available at least once every 24 hours, then probably a bigger (~ 8000mAh) would be a good supply for at least 2 days worth of constant use.
